2022 Lexus NX 450h+ F Sport

The all-new 2022 Lexus NX 450h+ F Sport offers a slew of firsts, including the all-new Lexus Interface multimedia system designed specifically for the North American market. Lexus is ushering in a new era of luxury by emphasizing electrification, intuitive technology, performance, and design. The all-new NX, with a lower center of gravity and a stronger stance, embodies powerful design, intuitive innovation, and limitless utility. The most noticeable change is the addition of Lexus Interface, which provides integrated multimedia and digital support on the optional 14-inch touchscreen display. It provides over-the-air updates, wireless charging, and an untethered smart phone connection to the user’s specific profile. This is in addition to the standard Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 and Blind Spot Monitor. Furthermore, Safe Exit Assist and the innovative Digital Latch system are intended to make exiting the vehicle safely even easier.

The Lexus logo in the rear has been redesigned to have a more advanced and modern appearance. The L emblem has been replaced by a new, unified LEXUS logo located in the vehicle’s center. To distinguish the NX, a full-width blade rear combination lamp (similar to the Lexus UX and IS) and an L-shaped lamp on the rear fender are separated. At night, the light bar lamps are constantly illuminated to serve as a taillight and to illuminate the rear brand signature. The all-new 2022 Lexus NX 450h+ F Sport sends a strong message to those approaching the luxury crossover, from the refined spindle grille to the new full-width blade taillamps and LEXUS rear badging. The updated grille pattern and frame at the front create a more integrated feel to the vehicle’s body. The spindle grille is made up of tall U-shaped blocks and is designed for a three-dimensional effect, creating a sense of depth while expressing a strong impression. The optional three-projector headlamps, which are framed on top by the L-shaped daytime running lights (DRL), create balance with a more subdued impression.

The standard 9.8-inch touchscreen in the center stack provides easy access to a variety of multimedia features. The optional 14-inch touch screen, a Lexus NX first, provides an immersive multimedia experience. Dial controls continue to be used for frequently used functions such as climate control and media volume. Comfort features like heated seat selection are now more widely available. All of the improvements work together to create a more user-friendly digital in-vehicle experience. The driver-centered cockpit of the NX has been meticulously designed with the goal of connecting the driver to the vehicle in mind. The 7-inch Multi Instrument Display (MID) and optional 10-inch Head Up Display (HUD), both NX firsts, are intended to convey vehicle information, alerts, and updates within the driver’s field of vision. A high-definition screen makes the MID’s single meter layout more visible. The steering wheel houses the majority of the driving-related functions, allowing for intuitive operation while keeping the driver’s eyes on the road.

The new plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) system, a first for Lexus, brings Lexus Electrified to life through performance and the signature quietness of a PHEV model. The newly developed, high-capacity lithium ion battery allows the NX 450h+ to travel 36 miles on electric power alone, according to the manufacturer. The system generates the EV output of a 2.0-liter engine. With an estimated 6.0 second 0-60 time when combined with the newly developed hybrid transaxle, a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine delivers the performance luxury guests seek. Shorter charging times result from a high-output, high-efficiency system designed to reduce power loss when converting from AC to DC power. When equipped with the optional 6.6 kW Expedited Onboard Charger, the Lexus NX plug-in hybrid can be fully charged in about two and a half hours using the maximum charging current of 240V. Charge time increases slightly to four and a half hours when using the standard 3.3 kW on-board charger.

For a confident, sporty driving experience, the NX450h+ features an electronically controlled, full-time AWD system. The driver can control the vehicle as intended by optimizing front and rear torque distribution based on driving conditions. For normal to aggressive driving styles, the NX AWD provides exhilarating yet elegant control. Predictive Efficient Drive works in tandem with the navigation system to learn driving habits, predict the expected roadway ahead, and analyze real-time traffic reports to optimize hybrid battery charging and discharging. The more miles driven by the NX, the more data is collected to help optimize fuel consumption. In addition, the system uses accumulated knowledge about a driver’s behavior to predict when and where the vehicle will likely slow or stop. For example, when the Lexus NX approaches a location where the driver has previously slowed or stopped, Predictive Efficient Drive increases regenerative braking, allowing more efficient energy to be recovered and recharged into the hybrid battery.

The all-new Lexus Interface multimedia system, developed in North America, enables the NX to seamlessly integrate and navigate life’s twists and turns. The eye-catching standard 9.8-inch touchscreen puts intuitive technology at the fingertips of the occupants. The new Human Machine Interface (HMI) on the screen improves user interaction through sight, touch, and voice while balancing accessibility requirements. With integrated automatic climate control functions, an optional 14-inch touchscreen enhances the experience.Lexus Interface also includes a new Virtual Assistant that was created with a human-centered approach. The Virtual Assistant is designed to be the primary interface through which guests interact with the new multimedia system. The system, which includes dual microphones, enhanced noise cancellation, seat detection, and speaker location capabilities, enables a voice-first approach, allowing front seat occupants to access navigation, media, phone, and certain vehicle settings such as climate control and window opening/closing.

The all-new Lexus NX will be equipped with the most recent Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 for added peace of mind in a variety of situations, including: Avoidance of Risks Emergency Steer Assist – assists in lane collision avoidance by providing gentle braking and steering operation. Left Turn Oncoming Vehicle Detection/Braking – This feature alerts the driver and automatically brakes if the driver turns left in front of an oncoming vehicle.Right/Left Turn Oncoming Pedestrian Detection/Braking – designed to warn and automatically brake if a driver turns left or right in front of an oncoming pedestrian or cyclist. The Pre-Collision System now includes Oncoming Vehicle Detection, which is intended to alert the driver and potentially activate automatic emergency braking to help avoid a frontal collision. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Curve Speed Management – maintains a cruising speed that is in sync with traffic flow while controlling speed on curves.
