The Cherry Blossoms in This Japanese Village Have Just Bloomed, And The Photos Are Beautiful

Spring has arrived early in the Eastern Japanese town of Kawazu, known for its cherry blossoms. The little village just outside of Tokyo is noted for its 8000 cherry blossom trees, which bloom early each year. Every February, millions of visitors are greeted with beautiful vistas that are incredibly romantic.

The blossoms, known as sakura in Japanese, usually bloom in late March or early April, but Kawazu’s trees belong to a special kind that blooms earlier than others. A little locomotive train transports passengers through aromatic scents and pink gradient colours. Floodlights illuminate the trees at night, and their reflections dance along the Izu peninsula’s quiet waters.

In Japan, cherry blossoms are extremely symbolic and culturally significant. Because the fleeting aspect of their beauty is frequently associated with the shortness of life, they symbolise not just the acceptance of karma and fate, but also the final acceptance of death. For these reasons, they frequently feature in Japanese art and have come to represent the nation itself.
