The devoted dog, who was carrying 10 puppies, died after being bitten by the 4ft-long monocled cobra, renowned as one of the world’s most lethal snakes.

A family is devastated when their “faithful” pit dog died fighting off a poisonous snake that tried to creep into their home.
On Tuesday night, Nong Horm, two, was discovered dead alongside the 4ft long lizard in the front yard of his home in Pathum Thani, central Thailand.

The dog was reaching the conclusion of her pregnancy and carrying around ten newborn puppies.

After being hurt by the protection dog, the monocled cobra, one of the world’s deadliest snakes, was dying. Its poisonous venom is supposed to have killed the dog in seconds.

Suriyon Chanthakhet, 51, claimed the devoted pet resided on the farm with them all.

Suriyon claimed to have heard Nong Horm battling with something near the front yard, but it was too late to save the dog from the snake by the time he arrived outside.

Owner Suriyon Chanthakhet, 51, said the dog was “loyal” and gave her life for them

“What caused this awful catastrophe to happen to you? I am really sad that you died while pregnant.”
Suriyon stated that he was disappointed in himself for failing to save Nong Horm and her puppies.

The cobra perished shortly afterwards. Nong Horm was buried in the rear garden, while the snake was brought outdoors.
“Nong Horm was the finest pet dog our family has ever taken care of,” Suriyon remarked. She was so devoted to us that she even gave her life for us.”

It’s not the first time a dog has been commended for its ability to protect itself against a snake.
In November, another dog died after being bitten by a snake while defending its owner’s children.
Sunil Krushna Samantray, the dog’s owner, informed authorities that the dog had been tied up in front of his home in Mundamuhana when tragedy struck.
